Bayer Patriot Insecticide Ear Tag for Cattle - Pk 50
Patriot Insecticide Ear Tags are for effective control of buffalo fly, including control of pyrethroid resistant fly populations on beef and dairy cattle. Patriot is impregnated with Diazinon, an anticholinesterase insecticide of the organophosphate chemical class.
The insecticide is slowly released from the tag to protect cattle against buffalo fly for up to 4 months. With the added convenience of a one ear tag system, Patriot is easier to apply and economical.
If buffalo flies are not managed correctly, it can cost producers up to $30 per head each year in lost production alone. Don't let the harmful effects of buffalo fly affect your cattle this fly season.
Use Patriot for sustained buffalo fly control to ensure the welfare of your animals and get the best out of your cattle.
Highly effective, with up to 4 months buffalo fly control
Effective against pyrethroid resistant flies, making it an ideal rotation option
One ear tag system, saving you labour and cost
Easy to apply with an Allflex Universal (Red) orLazaMatic applicator
No withhold periods
Directions for Use:
Patriot ear tags will give effective control of buffalo flies if used on all animals (over 3 months of age). Patriot can be easily applied using an Allflex applicator with a universal pin. Attach one tag per animal to the back of the ear as shown in Figures 1 to 4.
It is recommended to treat cattle with ear tags during the peak fly season ie. when more susceptible cattle show 'fly worry', or when there are more than 200 flies per beef animal or 30 flies per dairy cow. To prolong the effectiveness of the chemical groups available for fly control, ensure that you rotate your ear tags from year to year. Be mindful to use an alternative chemical group for fly control pre- and post- Patriot application to an organophoshate (if further fly control is required) to delay the development of resistance.
